Try the whole process free. Pay to make it yours.
The free version is a full run-through: every phase, with your real co-founders, on our standard set of weights. It is there so you can find out whether this process suits your team before paying for anything. What it will not do is weigh your business the way your business actually works — that is what the paid version is for.

Where the line falls
Three things sit behind the price. Everything else — every phase, every founder, every re-run — is the same either way.
The weights stop being ours and start being yours
Paying does not loosen the rules — it only changes whose weights they are. The total still has to land on exactly 100%, a co-founder still has to accept every change, and the weights still lock the moment the questionnaire opens.
If the standard weights already describe your company, the free version gives you the same split. We would rather say that than sell you the upgrade twice.

Questions
What does the free version actually do?
Every phase, start to finish, with as many co-founders as you like — negotiation, peer assessment, a real split, unanimous approval, a finalized record. What it will not do is weigh your business your way: it runs on one fixed standard set of weights, so the number it lands on is that template's answer rather than yours. Treat it as a dress rehearsal — enough to find out whether the process is worth paying for before you pay for it.
So what am I paying for?
Making it yours. Custom weights, your own categories and items, and twelve industry templates built for specific kinds of business. If the standard weights already describe your company, you may genuinely not need to pay.
Is it per person or per project?
Per project, once. Every co-founder on that project takes part at no extra cost, however many of you there are.
What if we disagree with the result?
Any founder can dispute it instead of approving, and the team runs another round. Disputing does not wipe anything: the earlier result and the record of who approved it and who objected stay in the project beside the new round, so you keep both what was proposed and what changed. Re-runs on a project you have paid for are included — there is no charge per round.
Can we redo a split after we have finalized it?
Not on the same project. Finalizing is deliberately a one-way door — that is what makes the record worth anything to an investor or a lawyer later — so a project that has been finalized can be archived but not reopened. Disputing and re-running happen before that point, while the result is still being reviewed. If the team's circumstances change enough to need a fresh answer, that is a new project.
Do you take a percentage of anything?
No. There is no percentage, no equity, and no recurring charge. One price for one project.
Is Pie Divide legal or tax advice?
No. Pie Divide is not a law firm and does not give legal, tax or financial advice. It helps you reach and record a decision — you will still want a lawyer to paper it and an accountant to file it.
